Ravana Ruins

The Ravana Ruins are ancient ruins of unknown origin and the source of the Curse of Ravana. They predate The Avari by an undetermined period and were discovered privately by Severin Falkenrath before 1282. The site of the 1282 ritual.

History

Pre-1282: Severin Falkenrath discovered the ruins privately and attempted to absorb the energy alone. He nearly died and survived with permanent scarring. He concluded the energy must be distributed before it can be consolidated. He told no one.

1282: Severin brought all five Avari to the ruins, presenting the energy as a gift. It distributed automatically — one share per person present. Lucien Alvaro de Castillon, Severin Falkenrath, Leopold von Lachsenhausen, Victor von Lachsenhausen, and Elias Castillon each received a share. Severin’s plan to recollect all shares through murder began from this point.

Modern era: Neutron NRG’s extraction activities are associated with the ruins, though the company has never publicly acknowledged their location or significance.

c. 2510 (Frangfurd era): The neighbouring village of Great Question became the first community to contact the Curse of Ravana at the ruins. The contact spread as an unnatural disease that nearly wiped the village out.

2565 (Frangfurd era): The ruins were rediscovered in the Wet Lands by The Pioneers, who reached the region by air aboard The Copper Maiden and found the village of Great Question beside them. They founded Camp 0 at the site to study the Curse of Ravana. The land that held the ruins, undisclosed throughout the Luxemburg era, lies in the southern Wet Lands of Jedersland.

Notes

What the ruins were originally built for, and by whom, is entirely undocumented. The name “Ravana” may be a clue worth developing. Their location was lost after Severin Falkenrath fused into the earth and was not documented again until The Pioneers rediscovered them in the Wet Lands. The ruins suggest the Curse of Ravana has been accessed before the Avari.
