Timeline of Luxemburg¶

Single source of truth for all dates in the Kapitel Kapital universe. For later chapters see Lichdenstein and Frangfurd.

Origins (1209–1228)¶

1214	Lucien Alvaro de Castillon born in Fatima to a scholarly family.
1215	Leopold von Lachsenhausen born. Groomed for military command.
1218	Victor von Lachsenhausen born. Early aptitude for diplomacy and commerce.
1218	Ava Montclair born.

The Great Tragedy (1228–1232)¶

Year	Event
1228	King Aldric of Lachsenhausen instigates civil unrest in Fatima to manufacture justification for a military march-in. Soldiers annex the town. The Castillon family home is burned with Lucien's parents inside. He escapes with physical scars.
1229	Armano Salvius, a travelling merchant, finds the wounded Lucien on the roads and takes him in.
1232	Lucien convinces Armano Salvius to extend credit to a lord who proves bankrupt. Armano is ruined and dies that winter. Lucien flees to Bellum Castle.

The Partnership Forms (1233–1257)¶

1233	Lucien meets Severin Falkenrath at Bellum Castle. A cautious alliance forms.
1238	Lucien marries Ava Montclair.
1241	The Bellum Castle Trade Route is established using Ava Montclair's family connections.
1243	At the Glaceus Arena tournament, Lucien and Severin meet Leopold von Lachsenhausen and Victor von Lachsenhausen. A business arrangement becomes genuine friendship.
1249	Ava Montclair dies in childbirth. Last words: "You're becoming the very thing you hate." Elias Castillon survives.
1251	King Aldric of Lachsenhausen dies. Lucien Alvaro de Castillon had been poisoning his food supply through corrupted grain shipments for several years.
1257	The four officially adopt the name Avari — "the greedy ones" in an ancient dialect.
1258–1264	The Avari absorb Lachsenhausen into their empire through economic leverage and the brothers' rulership.

Severin's Discovery (date unknown, pre-1282)¶

Severin Falkenrath privately discovers the Ravana Ruins and tests the Curse of Ravana alone. The attempt nearly kills him, leaving permanent scarring. He understands the energy must be distributed first. He tells no one.

The Ritual (1277–1282)¶

1277	Severin, approaching 70, raises the subject of mortality with the group and introduces the Ravana Ruins.
1282	Severin brings all five Avari to the Ravana Ruins, including Elias Castillon as Lucien's son. The Curse of Ravana distributes automatically — one share each. All five receive immortality. Severin's plan to kill the others begins from this moment.

The Golden Years & Corruption (1283–1360)¶

1283–1320	The Avari rule efficiently. Immortality inspires reverence and fear.
1321–1340	Immortality begins to degrade them. Leopold grows violent. Victor grows detached. Severin's paranoia intensifies.
1341–1360	Elias Castillon pleads with his father to end their rule. Lucien cannot imagine life without power.

The Fall (1361–1365)¶

1361	Severin Falkenrath poisons Leopold von Lachsenhausen and Victor von Lachsenhausen with wine at Mount Kings. Holds them as they die. Share count: 3.
1362	Villager revolt. Lucien and Severin flee through the Bellum Castle tunnels. Severin stabs Lucien. Share count: 4. Elias Castillon flees to the Vulcan Islands.
1365	Elias Castillon dies at the Castillon Rift, routing his share into the earth. Severin Falkenrath arrives too late. The fifth share is lost to the land. The volcanic cataclysm raises Chunk Err to the west of the Vulcan Islands.

Aftermath & The Long Pursuit (1365–1933)¶

1365–1400	The Avari Empire splinters. Energy residue from the broken bond soaks into the land.
1400–1600	Fractured kingdoms coalesce. The Avari become legend, then myth.
1600–1701	Successor kingdoms consolidate into Luxemburg. Capital established over the old Avari stronghold ruins.
1622	Frank Limestealer founds Limestealer for mining and industrial technology research.
1647	Frank Limestealer dies. Memorial statue erected.
1701	Luxemburg formally unified.
1701–1933	Luxemburg industrialises. Railways and infrastructure expand. Dead zones dismissed as geology.
1933	Neutron NRG founded by S. Falken (Severin Falkenrath) in Cliffhanger.

The Industrial Era & Extraction (1933–21^st century)¶

Mid 19^th c.	Calcite Industries and Skank Industries expand their own railway programmes. See The Rail Expansion.
1933–21^st c.	Each Neutron NRG extraction attempt causes progressive environmental damage. Calcite Industries and Skank Industries also conduct extraction attempts.
1994	Neutron NRG Flight Crash — failed aeronautic experiment using Curse of Ravana energy as propulsion. All aeronautic projects scrapped. Crash site: cliffs near Old Man's Consequences, south of Okinowa.

The Final Event (~21^st century)¶

Severin Falkenrath's final extraction attempt fails catastrophically. Rather than pulling the energy out of the ground, the attempt pulls Severin in. He fuses into the earth at the Vulcan Islands. His four shares merge with Elias Castillon's entrenched fifth share. All five shares of the Curse of Ravana are now in the ground.

The Slow Transformation (~21^st century – 2300)¶

No single collapse. No clear before and after. Luxemburg's world unravels gradually — infrastructure fails, institutions dissolve, populations scatter. Small communities form around whatever still functions. Over roughly 300 years, the world reorganises itself around survival rather than ambition.

Lichdenstein (c. 2300)¶

The survivors have settled into something stable enough to name. Built on land that contains, somewhere beneath it, all five shares of an ancient energy and the remains of the man who spent centuries trying to claim them all.

c. 2300	Lichdenstein forms across the ruins of Luxemburg. Settlements include New Cliffhanger, Floodhaven, Fumble, and Long Dong Island.

Frangfurd (~c. 2500 onward)¶

c. 2510	Great Question, a village beside the Ravana Ruins, becomes the first community to contact the Curse of Ravana. An unnatural spread of disease nearly wipes it out.
2518	The Obelisk erupts from the Frangfurder Sea near the former site of New Cliffhanger.

2561	Andreas Azulmandio born in Cufefe, Frangfurd.
2563	The Pioneers complete The Copper Maiden, an all-copper airship, at Pioneers Outpost.
2565	The Copper Maiden crosses south over Mono Monte to the Wet Lands — the first recorded crossing. Camp 0 founded at the Ravana Ruins to study the Curse of Ravana. The Pioneers build the Pioneers Airstrip (later Citadel Airport) and use Great Question as a hub, rescuing surviving villagers.
2566	Kupfer Guild Inc. founded by Ulius Händlberg and Rajesh Masala to mine the newly opened Wet Lands.
2568	Kupfer Guild Inc. begins funding Camp 0.
c. 2575	Kupfer Guild Inc. completes The Citadel as a hub and port for Camp 0.
2578	Blue Ice Industries founded by Bob Winters.
2600	Project Gigantico Crash — Blue Ice Industries' giant military walker fails in the Arctic Semicircle attempting a heavy ground route south. The wreck becomes the Frozen Giant.
2615	Kyle Winters takes over Blue Ice Industries from his father Bob Winters.
Pre-2623	Andreas Azulmandio leads Los Azules, controlling drug trade and uranium mining on the Warzow Peninsula. Funds Cufefe's rise from an unstable logging town to a prosperous export hub.
2623	Andreas Azulmandio founds Hotel Azul on the Warzow Peninsula.
After 2623	Andreas Azulmandio dies. Uran Inc. absorbs Los Azules' uranium-mining operations. NPW emerges as the peninsula's dominant political body. NPW and Uran Inc. co-found the WLC Arenal, including the Woodland Circuit, Woodland Colosseum, Woodland Airfield, and WLC Tower. Cufefe contributes to construction.
c. 2640	Curse research at Camp 0 concludes; the site is left largely abandoned.
2650	Blue Ice Industries builds the Ice Berg Circuit beside the wreck of the Frozen Giant.
2654	Blue Ice Industries opens the Blue Ice Bot Arena within the Frozen Giant.
2662	Kupfer Guild Inc. upgrades the Pioneers Airstrip into Citadel Airport to commercialise the Wet Lands.
2665	Kupfer Guild Inc. builds the Jungle Boat Circuit, converts the Camp 0 Old Laboratory into a nightclub and cafe, and opens the site as Kupfer Arenal.
2668	Pimber & Ton Real Estate founded by Pimber Green and Ton Green in the Mountain Meadow Region.
