Ava Montclair was the wife of Lucien Alvaro de Castillon and daughter of a wealthy merchant family whose trade connections and capital funded the Bellum Castle Trade Route. She became Lucien's only true confidante and the only person suspecting of his plans against King Aldric of Lachsenhausen. Her last words warned Lucien he was becoming what he hated. The Montclair merchant family continued after her death; Frank Limestealer is a documented descendant approximately 12 generations later.

Background

Daughter of a merchant family with significant trade connections operating in the region bordering Lachsenhausen. Married Lucien Alvaro de Castillon in 1238, aged 20 — initially a strategic arrangement that gave Lucien access to her family's capital and network, which funded the Bellum Castle Trade Route. Over time she became his primary confidante.

History

Only Ava suspected Lucien's involvement in King Aldric of Lachsenhausen's death through contaminated grain shipments, though Aldric did not die until 1251, two years after Ava herself.

Died in childbirth in 1249. Their son Elias Castillon survived. Her last words to Lucien: "You're becoming the very thing you hate."
